Los de Abajo Printmaking Collective cordially invites the Southern California community to the inauguration of their new space and arts residency at the Social and Public Art Resource Center (S.P.A.R.C.). Refreshments and light appetizers will be served.
Several collaborative large scale prints and mixed media developed by the group will be on display as well as a selection of individual prints in techniques such as linocut, woodcut, drypoint, monotype and monoprint, etching and mixed media.
Our group is committed to the promotion of the printmaking arts through collective projects and collaborative pieces as well as workshops and exhibitions. We are also interested in pushing the boundaries of printmaking in order to explore new forms and techniques of expression within the medium. Our residency at S.P.A.R.C. will allow us to develop new ideas for collaborative projects as well as for individual experimentation.
This coming July, we will start offering printmaking workshops on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Students will learn about relief printmaking, carving techniques and will create a one color print.
2pm- 5pm
COLLAGRAPH/MIXED MEDIA with artist Marianne Sadowski
Students will learn the process of creating a collagraph and make a series of prints combining other printmaking techniques.

Students will learn about the process of plate lithography and create a series of one color prints.

NON TOXIC ETCHING with artist Poli Marichal
Students will be guided through the process of non toxic etching techniques and create a one color print.
2pm - 5pm
MONOTYPE/ MIXED MEDIA with artist Marianne Sadowski
Students will learn about different monotype techniques and combine them with other printmaking processes, creating several one of a kind prints.
Fee per 4 class session is $120.- + Material Fee: $25.-
Maximum 6 students per class.
