Network of Ensemble Theaters invites you to: Design and designers in ensemble created work

An open conversation with:

• Critical Mass Performance Group
• Las Ramonas
• Rogue Artists Ensemble
• Son of Semele Ensemble

Ensembles are hotter than ever and here are four L.A. based ensembles that range in style, structure and storytelling. All with different budgets and points of view.

But when it comes to designers, how do they fit into the ensemble model?

How does a designer work with an established ensemble on a new work?

What is the process and steps both the designer and the members of the ensemble take to tell their story?

In this open conversation we will discuss the type of work they do and how the design or designers work with the ensemble. We will interact with members of the ensembles and scenic, sound, puppets, video and mask designers.

The open conversation is free and open to the public and a great opportunity for those interested in the ensemble method.

Las Ramonas - Marlene Beltran, Jo Anna Mixpe Ley and Marisol L. Torres are fierce multi-media artists, performers, artivists, and teatristas who have independently created, performed, and taught teatro in Los Angeles and beyond for more than 10 years. These urban payasas utilize music, dance, video, satire, parody, and all tools at their reach (including handsaws, shoulder pads, tongs and chihuahuas) to prompt laughter and inspire socio-political conscious thought in their communities and throughout the world...(insert echo here.)
