Jornada is back! A grand celebration of world music and dance, Jornada traced the development and influence of Flamenco last Spring. Visit the Mission Playhouse on International Dance Day, Saturday, April 29th at 7:30pm as the journey continues.
Jornada, Spanish for 'journey,' is the creation of Clarita Corona, artistic director of Arte Flamenco Dance Theatre. In this production, Arte Flamenco Dance Theatre brings Spanish dance from Andalucía and will be joined by BollyPop, presenting Kalbelia folk dance from Rajasthan (North West India), Resurrección Mexican Folk de Rafael Valpuesta (Yucatán, Mexico) and Firqat Fan Al-Maghrib (North Africa). Experience these dances through stunning costumes and the vibrant sounds and rhythms from live musicians.
Come early with friends and family to the festive Mercado 'market' at Playhouse Plaza from 5:30pm-9:30pm! A perfect place to find a gift for Mom and loved ones (Mom's Day is May 14), purchase beautiful handicrafts from local artisans.
