Javier Bardem has signed on to play the villain in the next installation of the James Bond series.

Vicente Fernandez, Nortec Collective Presents: Bostich & Fussible, Mana, Juanes, Alejandro Fernandez and Lila Downs were among the artists that performed at the opening ceremony of the Pan-American Games in Guadalajara last week.

Several Latino-themed pilots are currently in development at the major networks. NBC is working with Kenny Ortega to develop a pilot about a Latino family that runs a Latin dance studio in Miami. Fox is working with Silvio Horta and Jennifer Lopez to develop a dramedy about a Latino family living in Miami. Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith are working with ABC on the "Untitled Romeo Project", starring former Aventura singer Romeo Santos about a young Dominican-American living in New York. CBS is developing Rob Schneider's pilot about a man who marries into a Latino family.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's American Idol-style show "Q'Viva! The Chosen" announced the first three of 21 broadcast networks that will carry the series in 2012: Televisa (Mexico), Univision (U.S. Spanish-language) and Caracol TV (Colombia).

Louis C.K. of the FX series "Louis" and Greg Garcia of the Fox series "Raising Hope" were named among the Hollywood Reporter's "The Power Showrunners 2011" list.

Kate del Castillo and Pedro Fernandez will host the 2011 Billboard Mexican Music Awards airing on Telemundo on October 27th.

George Lopez is currently developing a new TV sitcom series with a team of writers.

New York's El Diario La Prensa will honor Manny Gonzalez, Director of Hispanic Marketing at Moet Hennessy USA, at its annual El Awards Luncheon on October 20th.

Laurence Klinger, Chief Creative Officer of Hispanic ad agency Lapiz, was named HIspanicAd.com's Creative Director of the Year at the annual AHAA advertising conference in Miami last week.
