H&R Block multicultural liaison wins a 'Woman of 2011' award from the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Magdalena Morales Honored for 'Making a Difference'

Magdalena Morales, a long-time community outreach professional, was recently named one of the Mujeres del 2011 (Women of 2011) by the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Among the nine Mujeres del 2011 recipients, Morales was recognized for "Making a Difference in the Community" ÔÇô a mission she pursues as a multicultural liaison for H&R Block in the western United States.

Morales develops partnerships with Hispanic community organizations and businesses. She also works with diversity councils throughout the region to educate and assist Hispanics with tax and financial issues. Inside H&R Block, she works with corporate and field associates to develop training and career opportunities for bilingual tax professionals who serve bilingual tax clients.

In the past, Morales performed outreach for the nation's largest Latino human services provider, the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF). The group was founded by her father, the late Dionicio Morales.

Magdalena Morales also consulted for Laurel Consulting Group, a leading conference and event management company. Later, she founded her own company, Event Mosaic, where she provided effective outreach and event management strategies for regional organizations, including Fiesta Educativa, California HealthCare Foundation, ALIANZA and others.

Morales earned her bachelor's degree in liberal studies from California State University ÔÇô Los Angeles.
