Rockin' the Valley with Rocky

?ŪOrale! You should have been there!

Gente looking good all dressed up nice and formal on a Saturday night, an elegant pink & red banquet hall setting by LORENA, ceiling to floor drapes, gourmet buffet dinner, roses for the ladies, one of the Valley's hottest adult music DJ's...yours truly, L.A.'s King of Latino Underground R&B & East L.A. Oldies, and dancing till past midnight‘«™.

‘«™did SOMEBODY get lucky, or was it all just a dream?...

That's the way it was last Saturday as the proud Veterans of San Fernando put on another killer "Saturday Night at the Legion" show at the historic San Fernando American Legion Hall for another sold out crowd on Valentine's Day weekend.

All of the above mentioned, I was honored to serve as host and Master of Ceremonies as DJ GIBBY spun the dance tunes in between the cuts all night long. There was a lot of dancing and romancing going on this night, and the entertainment was THEE reason!

Coming all the way from the East Side and Hacienda Heights, Rocky Padilla brought a varsity team of musicians which included singer BERNICE NICHOLE, and it was on. Puro Brown soul served up warm & saucy, just the way you like it‘«™.

From the very start, with Rocky crooning his seductive version of "I'm Still Here", the dance floor packed with dancing lovers, and it stayed that way the rest of the night. Many couples were celebrating their anniversaries, and the moment was right to do so.

Going through the changes through 3 strong sets, the ROCKY PADILLA Band did the Oldies, Rock & Roll, Funk, R&B, Cumbias, and even a little Conjunto Blues for a most appreciative crowd.

"People are having a ball‘«™and that's the way it should be! Gente eating, drinking, and dancing with no hassles or kiddie drama‘«™this party's for the big kids!" American Legion Vice Commander Richard Navarro beamed as he surveyed the full house.

"This was a great crowd. I've never performed here before, but I was honored to entertain the Gente on the same stage where the great Ritchie Valens once performed....hope we can come back someday soon!" Rocky told me after the show.

Spotted in the house was Rudy Esquivel of GNR Entertainment, who is helping put on a Lowrider Oldies but Goodies and Eastside Comedy Show at the Legion with his brother, famed Chicano Comedian GILBERT ESQUIVEL on March 30th at the San Fernando American Legion. I will also serve as your house DJ and resident lowriding Pachuco host.

But back to Saturday, my man Rocky had the place jumpin', bumpin' and grindin' all night long till closing‘«™and the good Gente de San Fernando want him back!

‘«™and when he comes‘«™you'll hear about it first here on LatinoLA.com !
