Summary of Role
The Manager, Public Relations, Media Relations & Communications is responsible for planning, managing and implementing a variety of public relations programs in a effort to evangelize Time Warner Cable Sports ability to serve the local Hispanic sports community.
This role will help build awareness and name recognition of Time Warner Cable Sports and its priority to serve the Hispanic community by directly engaging fans through a variety of media and press vehicles.
Essential Job Functions
-Evangelize and excite local fans and position our Hispanic-focused Regional Sports Network as the primary conduit for the local sports community.
-Interacts with Time Warner Cable Sports executives (local and corporate) to ensure strategy and positioning is appropriate, timely and consistent with the company's overall strategy.
-Develop strategies to tap into popular blogs, fan forums and message boards to use them as vehicles to reach Hispanic fans.
-Promote company community relations initiatives through earned media. This includes providing promotional support for corporate strategic programs and identifying other opportunities positioning the company as a community partner and leader.
Operations (Tactical Responsibilities) -Manage external media relations directed toward the Hispanic community. This includes developing media contacts and maintaining regular communication; research, development and distribution of press materials, story pitches to local media, pitch letters, newsletters, preparing local executives for media interviews, developing story ideas and message points and effectively communicating them to a variety of media and act as a spokesperson for the Regional Sports Networks.
-Manages company social media aspects focused toward the Hispanic community. This includes oversight and development of social media tools including Twitter, Facebook and other assets and regular communication via social media. Build Time Warner Cable Sports Hispanic fan bases / followers.
-Develop annual and special project public relations programs, budgets and timelines. Requires strategic planning, creative thinking and prior experience in PR program development.
-Coaching spokespeople and providing all media follow-up as well as developing and maintaining media lists and overseeing product review programs.
-Ability to effectively manage vendors and support staff as well as manage day-to-day aspects of assigned public relations programs.
-Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.

-Creates strategic and tactical communications plans to connect with fans and build brand affinity within the Hispanic community for Time Warner Cable Sports.
Position Requirements: Knowledge & Experience (Technical Responsibilities)
-Excellent organization skills, strategic planning, written and oral communications, public speaking, business writing and computer skills (MS Office Suite).
-Knowledge of sports and/or media operations required.
-Minimum 5-7 years in public relations / marketing with established track record of managing campaigns and utilizing social media to reach consumers.
-Deep knowledge of the local Hispanic sports community and the ability to foster strong relationships with the fans that drive it.
-Dynamic personality and be a savvy networker and relationship builder to recruit support within the organization, team and affiliate partners.
-Strategic, creative thinker that can drive results with resources that are primarily managed by others.
-Keen sense of the power of social media and digital media and be comfortable evangelizing Time Warner Cable Sports to a wide range of constituents, including fans, media, bloggers, and team partners.
-Strong understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
-Must be Bilingual, Spanish and English (both written and verbal).
Education & Experience
-College diploma or university degree in the field of Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a similar discipline.
-4-6 years of total relevant work experience
-Travel depending upon project needs.

-Overtime may be required in meet deadlines.
-Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
