Sylvia Torres-Guill?®n, General Counsel of the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board, was honored on March 21 by the Latina Lawyers Bar Association for her contributions to the legal community, her commitment to justice and her work to increased diversity in the legal profession. The event, Celebrating Latinas in the Legal Community, was held at the Los Angeles City Hall Rotunda and was attended by 150 guests, including elected officials and state and federal court judges.
The Latina Lawyers Bar Association began in Los Angeles 1997 when a group of Latina lawyers recognized the need to address issues affecting the Latina/o community of women and girls. LLBA is a 501 (c) (3) corporation with this goal and focus: the advancement of its members within the legal profession and that of Latina women and girls in the wider community.
