LATINA Style Honors Dorene C. Dominguez

The Anna Maria Arias Foundation along with LATINA Style Inc., the premier company addressing the needs of the Latina business owner and professional workingwoman, will honor Dorene C. Dominguez, President of the Board, Vanir Group of Companies, Inc., as LATINA Style Entrepreneur of the year for 2012 during the LATINA Style Business Series in Los Angeles, CA. The event will take place on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City (555 Universal Hollywood Dr. Universal City, CA 91608).

The Business Series, unique to LATINA Style Magazine, is a well known development program empowering Latina entrepreneurs across the country. More than 28,000 Latina entrepreneurs and professionals have benefited from participating in this exciting and informative one-day business program since its conception in 1998. The Business Series will exhibit expert presenters to speak and interact with the audience. Participants will benefit from workshops and panel discussions.

Dorene C. Dominguez succeeded her late father, H. Frank Dominguez in 2004, to become the President of the Board for the Vanir Group of Companies, Inc. In this position, Ms. Dominguez oversees 18 offices throughout the United States, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. The Vanir companies employ a growing staff of more than 300 talented executives, architects, engineers, construction managers, developers, contractors and support staff. Vanir is the leading provider of education facilities (K-12) in the State of California and is ranked #33 in Engineering News Record.

Ms. Dominguez is an active member of various community improvement projects, boards and commissions. She founded the The Vanir foundation, an organization that partners with schools to bring innovative programs to children in underserved communities. Ms. Dominguez previously served as a member of the American River Bank Board of Directors, National Council of La Raza, the Los Angeles Planning Commission, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Hispanas Organized for Political Equality, California State Board of Geology and Geophysics, and Governor Appointee of the California State Medical Board. Ms. Dominguez graduated Notre Dame University and holds a bachelor's degree in Business Finance.
