Levitt and BMI Team Up for Summer Concerts

Vast selection of Latino musical talent headline BMI Summer Nights, June 17 through September 8.

Levitt and BMI Team Up for Summer Concerts

Presented by BMI and the Levitt Pavilion, the second annual BMI Summer Nights series will highlight a vast selection of musical talent throughout its 2012 run. BMI Summer Nights kicks off on Thursday, June 17, followed by shows on July 7, August 19 and closing night on September 8. Each concert will feature two BMI singer/songwriters within The Levitt Pavilion line-up.

The four concert series is free and open to the public. June 17 and August 19 editions of BMI Summer Nights will take place at The Levitt Pavilion located in Pasadena, while the July 7 and September 8 installments will take place at The Levitt Pavillion located at Macarthur Park in Los Angeles.

Jorge Villarreal , AKA Mr. Vallenato, is a Mexican-American from Edinburg, Texas, who has played Colombian folk accordion music (cumbia and vallenato) since he was 12 years old. Mr. Vallenato is in the process of completing his debut LP album set for release in summer 2012.

Enjambre, one of the biggest rock bands from Mexico, is a five piece musical ensemble united to create contemporary rock music. Enjambre is releasing their newest album Daltonico under the transnational label EMI.

IL Abanico @ilabanico
Originally from Bogot?, Colombia, Il Abanico is an aggressive outburst of innovative melodies, an upbeat rhythm section and unorthodox guitars. Il Abanico is currently living and working in Brooklyn, performing and writing material for their new album.

Diego Garcia, one of 2011's breakout stars, is now set to release his album's third single "Nothing to Hide" to radio as he gears up for a national tour. Prior to his successful solo career, Diego made his mark on the indie music scene as front man for the popular act Elefant.

Dav?d Garza @davidgarzamusic
Dav?d Garza is an Austin-based, critically acclaimed artist who has been indie since before it was cool to be indie giving away music on his website before it became the thing to do. Garza is set to release his 31st album this Fall.

Recently signed with National Geographic, they represent a new generation of Colombian musicians ready to break all the rules.

Monseuir Perin? @monsieurperine
Monsieur Perin? is more than a musical group. It's a creative project born out of the artistic and rhythmic exploration undertaken by Catalina Garcia, Santiago Prieto, Nicolas Junca and Camilo Parra in 2007. Today the group has grown to include three new members: Fabi?n Pe??aranda, Miguel Guerra and Daniel Chebair on the drums.
