If you are like me, both your dance card and social events calendar is full of fun activities for most days of the week for the entire summer, and until fall.
The Beverly Hills BMW presented the Ultimate Live Jazz on the Roof Series that kicked off with DW3, Saturday, June 30th, from 6-9 PM. Beverly Hills BMW is located at 5070 Wilshire Blvd., between Highland and La Brea.
Talaya from 94.7 The Wave served as Mistress of Ceremony, as people gathered on the rooftop to cool down with some hot soulful sounds on the last day of June. A wonderful atmosphere and pleasant weather complimented the affair.
DW3 is a popular group that performs all over Southern California and at many festivals. Please visit their website www.dw3soul.com/live for their tour schedule so that you can find out for yourself what many people are raving about.
You can see them performing at their regular gig at either 7th Street Chophouse in San Pedro or Spaghettini's in Seal Beach. It didn't take long before the crowd was out their seats and on the dance floor dancing to the soulful sounds of DW3 with a Latin tinge. The highlights from their first of two sets featured "Ribbon in the Sky" by Stevie Wonder, "Girl,You Knock Me Out," "Love of Your Own," "Close the Door," and "Yumbambe" for the salseros.
The band members consist of Eric Mondragon on Keyboards/vocals, Billy Mondragon-timbales/vocals, Damon Reel-vocals,Michael Angel-guitar, James Strong-bass, Cornell Harrell-keyboards, and Robert Lopez-drums.
A fleet of BMW's were on display of the concert site. People were able to climb into the cars, pose for pictures in and around various BMW series. Another engagement prevented me from staying for the second set of the concert. I'm sure that DW3 took their final set up a notch as the sun set on this marvelous evening.
