Laughing & Partying on the Boulevard Again

?ŪOrale, Mi Gente!

Has this Summer been hot & scorching or what?

Although it's been hot enough to cook chorizo con papas on the hood of your car (NOT recommended, LOL) there's still some cool places to go chill out and have a good time in the Land of 1000 Dances.

Last Thursday, I was fortunate to celebrate my birthday with some good friends, lots of laughs, good food, cool drinks, good music, a little dancing, and some great company, as I cruised back home to the East Side and partied at the PALOMA ROOM on Whittier Boulevard in Montebello at the Rudy Moreno Thursday Night Laffs Show .

If you haven't been there lately, I highly recommend you check out the newly remodeled PALOMA ROOM in Montebello. New management, fresh new paint, furniture & carpet, a pretty decent munchie menu, affordable cold drinks, updated stage & sound system
(‘«™and yes! The air conditioner works just fine!) and Cory Silva's promise of some great entertainment for your evening's pleasure, to mellow out your Summer's itch to go somewhere cool and party in Aztlan, without emptying out your wallet or purse.

This past Thursday, the "Godfather of Chicano Comedy", Mr. Rudy Moreno, returned to the East Side and brought it on with some funny bone tickling comedians besides himself that included Pat Gallegos, Danny Villapondo, and the ever popular Edwin San Juan.

Man! I had a hard time finishing my cold beer, hot wings and some killer nachos because I was busting up so bad! That Rudy sure knows how to put on a great show! Afterwards, we threw a little chancla with the spins of DJ SMOOTH in the house, and the night was just right.

My Lady and I had a chance to kick back in the audience as a guest of Mr. Cory Silva, and Cory even joined us for a cold one at our table, along with popular East L.A. Revue Radio DJ SUGARBEAR. In between laughs he told me, "It's just going to get better, Carnal! Tell your friends. This place is brand new again! We got some great talent lined up for the near future that includes popular comedians like GILBERT ESQUIVEL, and killer bands like SOTO coming back to the Boulevard for more laughs and good times‘«™because THAT'S what the people want, right?"

You got THAT right, Brutha, and you know I'm gonna be there, along with the LatinoLA road dogs "in da house"!

This Thursday is another killer Thursday Night Laffs show coming up, hosted by Rudy Moreno, featuring popular and side tickling comedians Roberto Rodriguez, Tom Irwin, D. Militant, and Eric Blake, along with DJ SMOOTH spinning the " boogie-yer-buns-off" tunes for your dancing and listening pleasure.

Brought to you by the new owners and management of the Paloma Room and TOROMIX, this promises to be another great show, and we also will be celebrating DJ Sugarbear's birthday as well.

So step out, cruise back to the Boulevard in Montebello, and check out this Thursday, August 16 LAFF SHOW with Rudy Moreno a the PALOMA ROOM‘«™ you won't be disappointed!

The Paloma Room (formerly the Montebello Inn)
624 Whittier Blvd
Montebello, CA

Show stars at 8:00 pm‘«™come early and get a good seat!
