The 15th Annual Latino Book and Family Festival was held on Saturday, October 13, 2012. The event was held on the campus of CSU Dominquez Hills. This all day event featured over 100 authors, seminars and entertainment.
The Latino Book and Family Festival got underway with welcome remarks from Edward James Olmos, CSUDH President Dr.William Hagan and Jorge Heynes from the Office of the Chancellor (pictured). They were joined onstage by Jim Sullivan and Kirk Whisler for the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
Many wonderful informative, educational seminars were presented all afternoon. Each seminar had a standing room only audience to learn from all of the presenters.
Cal State University Dominquez Hills also hosted the 4th Annual Es El Momento Feria de Educaci??n, in conjunction with the Latino Book and Family Festival. This popular component drew thousands to the well manicured campus of Cal State University Dominquez Hills.
The Fair was sponsored by Spanish language TV Station Univisi??n. Families took advantage of the opportunity to get involved in their kids education as well as to continue their education on the world renowned educational institute.
The gymnasium featured representatives from educational institutions for pre-schoolers all the way up to colleges and universities,as well as various community agencies.
The 4th Annual Es El Moment: Feria de Educacion featured many helpful seminars that also had capacity crowds in each room taking in all of the useful information to guide their kids as well as their own educational needs.
Univision hosted entertainment stage on the south field on the campus. Singers and dancers dazzled the crowd as they visited the booth set-up on the perimeter of the South field with many give-aways.
