As a featured artist in "Lowrider Arte Magazine" Anthony Gonzales, AKA tonymash, has been involved in the Southern California art, music and fashion scene for over a decade with original art and designs seen everywhere from album covers to billboards. His talent has been sought after for branding and creative direction by apparel companies, boutiques, record labels, corporations and major music events such as Hootenanny and a Kat Von D artwork collaboration for Orange County's Music and Tattoo Festival MUSINK.
Launched in 2007, the Civilian Press has become the passion project in which he has found a balance for design, art and business. Finding inspiration in lowbrow, surrealism, minimalist and sensual art, his work leans toward a classy pin-up / velvet painting look and feel. Dark, sexy, and minimal, with elements of Dia de los Muertos, tonymash's art stands on its own. Clean lines and flow will always be the foundation of his art.
With an updated look for 2013, www.TheCivilianPress.com and Anthony Gonzales will be spending more time at events such as the BodyArtExpos, Long Beach's Ink-N-Iron, Mario Barth's Biggest Tattoo Show on Earth in Vegas and many others including the Self Help Graphics & Art events in Los Angeles. He'll be showcasing his custom art pieces, men's and women's apparel and also be "t-shirt cutting" creating custom styles for women.
