This posting is for paid internships with the Office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina. Interns are directly supervised by Legislative and Field Deputies, and will support the First District mission to improve good government practices and community services.
One intern will research a variety of legislative policy matters for Legislative Deputies, with a primary focus on health policy; one intern will work with Field Deputies on a wide range of community and municipal issues.
‘«ů A Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Economics, Urban Studies, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Health Policy and related fields.
‘«ů Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in writing and orally.
‘«ů Candidate's familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel and data base creation, Google mapping, Mass e-mailing and social media is beneficial.
‘«ů Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direction, and meet deadlines.
‘«ů Candidates must have the ability to research and gather information, summarize key issues on a variety of subject matters under tight timeframes, and issue complete policy briefings.
‘«ů Candidates' ability to adapt to a demanding work environment and shifting priorities is vital.
