The Los Angeles Music and Art School (LAMusArt) is proud to announce its 16th annual "Stars for the Arts Concert" honoring Union Bank Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Executive George A. Ramirez. The event will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Santa Monica Performing Arts Center's Eli and Edythe Broad Stage at 1310 11th St. in Santa Monica.

The concert, which begins at 8 p.m., will benefit East Los Angeles youth and their development in the arts. For ticket information, please visit: http://lamusart.org/stars-for-the-arts-2013/.

The event will feature baritone Marcelo Guzzo performing a program of opera arias, art songs, and compositions by Piazzolla and will feature the LAMusArt-Los Angeles Philanthropic Committee for the Arts Youth Orchestra, the LAMusArt Youth Choral Ensemble along with select student soloists.

"This year we are proud to honor George Ramirez at our annual Stars for the Arts Concert," said Los Angeles Music and Art School Executive Director, Isela Sotelo. "George is not only a long-time supporter of LAMusArt, he is a strong supporter of youth education and empowerment initiatives throughout California."

Ramirez has served on numerous boards of directors for civic and charitable organizations, including The Pat Brown Public Policy Institute and the UC San Diego Student-Run Free Clinic Project. He was chairman of the Southern California Junior Achievement Latino Initiative and was an executive board member for the Tom?ís Rivera Public Policy Institute. In addition, he is immediate-past Chairman for the White Memorial Medical Center Foundation in Los Angeles and is a member of the hospital's Governing Board.

"I am humbled by this recognition from LAMusArt and it's my honor to continue to support an organization that provides a nurturing environment for children and teens to expand their wings in the arts," said Ramirez. "Our community is also fortunate to have Isela Sotelo and the entire Los Angeles Music & Art School staff dedicating their lives to our children's enrichment in the arts."

The Los Angeles Music and Art School has become a cornerstone of the East Los Angeles Community and has flourished throughout the decades. LAMusArt offers sequential, multidisciplinary, quality individual and group arts training during non-school hours to all students, regardless of age, ethnicity or artistic aptitude. As the only multi-discipline arts school in East Los Angeles, LAMusArt is constantly improving and reinventing its programming to seamlessly fuse both instruction and performance opportunities across all genres offered. It will continue to be a haven of arts education for East Los Angeles and the surrounding community and looks forward to many more years of service.
