Help Support the Legacy of Cecilia Rios

HOLA, Latino LA

My name is Jay Francisco Lopez and I am an independent film maker born and raised in the Bay Area. This summer I plan on shooting a film that I am very passionate about and I am requesting your help.

This film 'Love, Cecy' is based on the true story of the popular 15-year-old Cecilia Rios from Richmond, CA, who was brutally murdered on March 14, 1994, as she took a shortcut home through a deserted elementary school. The film follows the promising young life that comes to a tragic end.

An online fundraiser has been started to raise $30,000 in order to make this film possible and give this girl the legacy that she deserves.

'Love, Cecy' will be the second feature film that I write, direct, and produce. My first independent film is titled 'Sin Padre' (Without Father) and was awarded the Audience Award for the 2012 San Francisco International Latino Film Festival. Making this film is something that I have been passionate about for the past year and half and her family feels that right now the time is right to tell her story.

My hopes are to be able to spread the word of this project to as many people as possible. I am hoping that you can possibly spread the word. Enclosing I am adding a link to a YouTube video that goes into depth. In advance I would like to thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Jay Francisco Lopez
