Comic Book Showcases Mexican Folklore in Whimsical Fashion

My name is Jose Pimienta. I am a resident of the los angeles area and a comic book artist. Currently, the writer Van Jensen and I launched a kickstarter campaign to get our most recent and my proudest work yet to see the light of print.

Why is this important?

the book titled "THE LEG or The Remarkable Return of Santa Anna's Disembodied Limb" is a very unique story that takes place in Mexico. It is a journey story that includes a depiction of the Mexican landscapes in the late 1930s. Van Jensen did an amazing job at writing the historical and cultural aspects in a very respectful and graceful manner, whereas, I, as someone who grew up in the border with family across Mexico, did to my best of my abilities to translate and illustrate how whimsical and beautiful the mysticism and folklore of my culture is.

Since Van and I chose to self-publish and distribute this book, we are taking the "kickstarter" route, which, as you know, requires the support of a community. Currently, we have been fortunate to receive positive feedback and constructive criticism. I was hoping if I may count with your support to advertise this extraordinary story and talk about it to the hispanic community.

All support is deeply appreciated.

thank you for your time and I hope we can collaborate.

sincerely..

Jose Pimienta
