Shakira announced that she will not return to The Voice as a judge next season in order to focus on being a mother and promoting her new album Shakira.

A Spanish-language version of Breaking Bad, Met?ístasis, will debut on Univision, UniM?ís, and Galavisi??n, on June 8th at 10pm EST.

Marc Anthony swept the Latin categories at the Billboard Music Awards winning Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Album, and Top Latin Song. Jennifer Lopez became the first woman to receive the Billboard Music Icon Award.

Ren?® P?®rez Joglar, aka Residente of Calle 13, and Rosie Perez will serve as King and Queen of this year's National Puerto Rican Day Parade taking place on June 8th in New York City.

San Antonio mayor Julian Castro will reportedly receive President Obama's nomination to head of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. If he does get nominated and elected by the Senate, Castro will become one of the highest-ranking Hispanic officials in the Obama administration.

Dissident Cuban blogger Yaoni Sanchez and her husband Reinaldo Escobar announced plans to publish "14ymedio", a general-interest newspaper that will be available online and in PDF format that will be distributed on memory sticks. According to Escobar: "We want to produce a newspaper that doesn't aim to be anti-Castro, a newspaper that's committed to the truth, to Cubans' everyday reality,"

The 20th annual SESAC Latina Music Awards will take place in Los Angeles on June 18th.

During its Upfront presentation, Telemundo announced plans to develop and air 800 hours of original programming including new telenovelas ("Los Miserables", "Due??os del Para?¡so") and reality/competition shows ("Yo Soy el Artista"). Telemundo Sports and NBC Sports will launch www.deportestelemundo.com featuring live matches, results, interviews and analysis and in 2015 mun2 will become the official Spanish-language home of the FIFA World Cup.

MundoFox held its Upfront presentation last week in New York City with a slate of new programming including "El Capitan", "Quien Mat?? a Patricia Soler?", "El Mariachi" and "Los Milagros de Jes??s".

ESPN Deportes held its Upfront presentation last week announcing that in 2015 it will broadcast more that 1,000 live events across ESPN Deportes Television, Radio and ESPN Deportes+, including the 2015 Pan American Games, Euro 2016 Qualifiers and MLB, NFL and NBA sports. The network also announced plans to expand its Mexico City studios in January.

Los Angeles' Latino 96.3FM station was rebranded and relaunched this week as SBS' Mega 96.3FM with an upbeat blend of pop hits, pop ballads and bachata. Mega 96.3FM joins New York and Puerto Rico as the third SBS Radio station to broadcast a market-specific version of the "Mega" brand.

Pantelion Films announced a partnership with Indomina Media to co-finance and internationally distribute several Spanish-language films. The films will be produced in the Dominican Republic and include "Complices" and "Quien Manda?" (produced by Zoe and Cicely Saldana's Cinestar Productions). Pantelion and Indomina previously collaborated on the 2012 release "Filly Brown".

AT&T will host the "One World One Party" series of events as part of its sponsorship of the U.S. and Mexican National Teams competing in the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Events will be held in Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Miami, Houston and Chicago throughout the month of June and will allow fans to experience Brazil through virtual reality technology, along with live DJs, samba dancers, customized menus by local and celebrity chefs, soccer legends and more.

Tecate & Tecate Light announced their summer retail campaign "Bold Legends of the Game" featuring Mexican soccer player Cuauht?®moc Blanco. The campaign features a mobile app where consumers can enter a sweepstakes to win a trip to Brazil to attend the World Cup.
