The New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF), which celebrated its fourth triumphant year this past summer, announces that it will take a slate of films on tour to Los Angeles from October 9 through 11, 2003.

"This year, we are excited to continue our touring program, where we showcase in several cities across the United States the best films from our New York festival. We thrilled to have TotalAXIS.com on our team to help make our Los Angeles event a success," shared Calixto Chinchilla, founder and director of the New York International Latino Film Festival.

The Los Angeles tour will open with the Sundance and NYILFF hit, Rhythm of the Saints, written and produced by the award-winning Latina playwright, Cyn Ca?el Rossi. This thrilling and moving film is about a young Latina from Washington Heights who turns to the mystical practice of Santer?a to combat the violence in her world.

The screenings will continue over three evenings with a mix of documentaries, narrative features and exciting and engaging short films. The Los Angeles tour is made possible by TotalAXIS.com, a networking alliance for artists, studio execs and industry professionals. The tour is presented by Cover Girl Cosmetics and sponsored by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Jack Daniels.

The New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF) was first presented in 2000 and is the first film festival in New York City to exhibit works (in Spanish and English) by national and international Latino filmmakers that portray expansive images of the Latino experience.
