Rancho Cucamonga's Daniel "Twitch" Franco

On Friday, July 11th, 2014, the city of Oxnard will be hosting the third, live, boxing event in a series of successful turnouts, titled, Ice versus Fire III.

One of the featured fighters on the nights bout, is 22 year-old, Daniel "Twitch" Franco of Rancho Cucamonga. Daniel a young, driven and educated, professional boxer hoping to distinguish himself amongst the long list of local So Cal talent. Although he resides in Rancho Cucamonga, he and his father make the commute three times a week to Oxnard for training.

Like many fighters flocking to the small suburb, to seek out some of boxing's top trainers, Daniel has partnered up with a well known, local trainer, by the name of Mario Aguiniga. Mario was one of the initial trainers that worked with former WBC Champion, Victor Ortiz. Daniel's manager, local business owner, Ray Chaparro of Cafe Amri, also played a role in the development of the young, Victor Ortiz before his career exploded. Today, Ray's focus has been to aggressively build Daniel Franco's record and increase exposure in order to position Daniel for a chance at signing with a top promotion company.

The fighter and manager both share similar aspirations - striving to make a name for themselves in the competitive boxing industry. Daniel dreams of world titles and boxing stardom, while Chaparro looks at fulfilling his dream of managing the boxing's next top talent. Two men, of different ages and experiences, both chasing after their dream to obtain success in the boxing world. Everyone has a dream, some of us reach those dreams at an early age, others spend a lifetime chasing them. With the synergy that these two individuals share, it's only a matter of time and hard work before they find themselves in the limelight.

The next fight is scheduled for Friday, July 11th at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center in the city of Oxnard, CA, just 45 minutes northwest of Los Angeles. Oxnard is home to last years winner of Boxing Trainer of the year - Robert Garcia of Robert Garcia Boxing Academy. The fight is being promoted by The Players Casino of Ventura, CA.
