El Americano: The Movie

Animex, a Mexico-based, award-winning animated film producer, Phil Roman Entertainment, and Olmos Productions, are working on the first binationally produced, animated 3D motion picture, "EL AMERICANO: THE MOVIE," a real-time story about crossing borders, dreams, superheros and the importance of family.

The movie showcases Mexico's state of the art 3D animation industry. All the indicators point toward the bilingual movie being a huge success and a watershed moment for Mexico's animation business. The highly anticipated movie, EL AMERICANO:THE MOVIE, is the first 3D animated film directly targeting U.S. Latinos and is already generating buzz.

Just like in the movie, the producers -- Gerry Cardoso, Alex Flores and Michael Olmos crossed borders -- putting together a dream team of the best in the industry including Phil Roman (The Simpsons), Mike Kunkel, Raul Garcia (The Missing Lynx) and Richard Pursel (Spongebob). From Puebla to Tijuana to San Diego and Los Angeles the production is truly a cross border production spearheaded by Director/Producer Ricardo Arnaiz, owner of Animex, one of the most recognized animation companies in Latin America.

"We believe EL AMERICANO will make a postive impact by sharing the values of Mexicans on both sides of the border and telling a story that will resonate with the millions that go to other countries looking to fulfill their dreams and often discover what they are looking for is in their own backyard and country," says Arnaiz

The stellar cast includes: Rico Rodriguez, Edward James Olmos, Argelia Atilano, Cheech Marin, Kate del Castillo, Paul Rodriguez, Gabriel Iglesias, Adal Ramones, Erik Estrada, KC Porter, El Mandril, Don Cheto, Hector Suarez, and Lisa Kudrow.

EL AMERICANO will take you on a spectacular journey with a starstruck boy parrot who leaves Mexico embarking on a quest to find his TV superhero in Hollywood to ask him to save the day for his family's business and livelihood. The lead character Cuco, the voice of Rico Rodriguez, of TV's Modern Famiy, is a Mexican boy parrot that would rather spend his time imitating the crazy stunts of his TV super-parrot hero, EL AMERICANO, rather than do his chores at his family's bird circus.

Five years in the making the motion picture will be released in movie theatres in the U.S, and Mexico simultaneously in early 2015 Arnaiz, like his lead character, knows no borders. He cast actors from both sides of the border. The soundtrack is produced by Gerry Cardoso, who is also the producer of the film, features the mulit-talented Aleks Syntek as song witer and the music of the chart topping La Arolladora Banda El Lim??n, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, 3BAL MTY, Duelo and Amanditita, Horacio Palencia among others. Syntek's brings his music style to the movie's main theme song.

But when a gang of bully birds threaten his ringmaster father and take over the family circus, Cuco sets off on a hilarious and perilous journey to Hollywood to enlist his hero in his fight only to discover the true hero within himself.
