New Spanish Children's ABC Book "A de Activista"

A is for Activist is an ABC board book written and illustrated for the next generation of progressives: kids who want to grow up in world that is safe, where activism, environmental justice, civil rights are respected.

The alliteration, rhyming, and vibrant illustrations make A is for Activist exciting for children, while the issues it brings up resonate with their parents' values of community, equality, and social justice. This engaging little book carries huge messages as it inspires hope for the future, and calls children to action while teaching them a love of books. And there is the cat, who must be found on every page

MARTHA GONZ?üLEZ is a Chicana artivista (artist/activist), feminist music
theorist, and Fulbright scholar who was born and raised in East Los Angeles. For the past seventeen years, she has been a singer and percussionist for the band Quetzal, a group that has made a considerable impact on Los Angeles's Chicano music scene. Their 2012 album Imaginaries won the Grammy for Best Latin rock, urban or alternative album. Gonzalez is a professor in the Chicano/a Latino/a Studies Department at SCRIPPS/Claremont College.

INNOSANTO NAGARA was born and raised in Indonesia and moved to the US in 1988 to study zoology and philosophy at UC Davis. He worked as a graphic designer for a range of social change organizations before founding the Design Action Collective, a worker-owned cooperative design studio in Oakland, California. A is for Activist is Inno's first book. After Inno self-published to great acclaim and amazing sales in the fall of 2012, he decided to bring this book to Triangle Square in early 2013.
