Friday, March 27th, 2015
Los Angeles City Hall
200 N. Spring St. Los Angeles, CA.

With a background in Latin American Studies from UCLA, Mariluz began working in public relations over 20 years ago with Capitol-EMI records. However, her love of Latino Arts & Culture and entrepreneurial spirit led her to launch her own public relations agency in 2008. She continues to drive her agency, Vesper Public Relations & Marketing, with the same founding value: Uplifting and highlighting the vast arts & culture talent found in international Latino communities.
In a recent feature interview with the popular Latino entertainment blog, Checa La Movie, Mariluz shared: "I love my country (Mexico) very much, the music, the land and cultural expressions ... And of course I also love my home, my neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley ... My country is also the United States which has allowed me to be an independent woman in a thousand ways and walk without fear, living a bit of famed American Dream."
In addition to her work with Vesper Public Relations, Mariluz has also been a long-time co-host of KPFK's long-running Latin Alternative music show, Travel Tips for Aztlan. As a co-host, Mariluz continues her work of spotlighting both local and international music talent.
Mariluz is being recognized amongst 31 other women from the San Fernando Valley by the popular blog, I Am San Fernando, for their contribution to their community. As part of Women's History Month, I Am San Fernando selected women from various backgrounds whose personal and professional passions have had an impact on the burgeoning San Fernando Valley.
On being a part of the Women's History Month recognition by I Am San Fernando, Mariluz states "It's highly important for women to be united on all fronts, regardless of background, affiliations, etc. Unity keeps us from isolating ourselves and thus empowers and strengthens."
