A musical adaptation with a punk Chicana twist, Little Red is a contemporary re-telling of the classic Little Red Riding Hood fairytale. The familia-friendly theatrical production, for audiences five-years-old and above, takes us on a rebellious teenager's moving journey through the Holly-Woods as she tries to find her own voice and worth in a long-standing family tradition that she considers antiquated.
This tradition forces her to forgo technology and modern transportation to visit a language-limited grandmother who is losing her sight and needs her medicine. An awkward teen boy scout named Corky Woodsm?ín--assisted by an owl named Paz--is charged with "protecting" Red on her path as part of his own family heritage. He is fearful as they make their way through the thunderous Holly-Woods, but feigns courage in the face of Don Coyote. A younger, leaner stand in for the Big Bad Wolf, Don Coyote is a loner teen rocker who seduces Red with his style, demeanor, and British accent, in his quest to deprive Red of the most precious thing that she has, the family she has not yet learned to appreciate.
