Making Women's Health Fun

Mujeres, your time is now! Your place is here. Your life is about to get better.

Why? Because the tools to better health, smarter finances, spiritual awakening and even safe sex are yours for the taking at the de mujer a mujer conference this Saturday, November 1 from 8 a.m. ? 3 p.m. at the Omni Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Don?t let the word ?conference? throw you. It?s all about being pampered. You know, just like when you put the word ?therapy? after the word ?massage? ? Massage therapy sounds pretty good, verdad? How about a little time with a make-up artist? Or maybe some time to chat with the girls about sex?

(If you want to get in on it before reading more ? before it sells out ? go to the registration tab at

After creating a dedicated audience for these discussions at conferences in nearly 40 cities around the United States, the National Speaking of Women?s Health Foundation has created initiatives to serve the particular needs of communities such as Latinas and African Americans. The mission of the Foundation is to help women make informed decisions about their health, well-being and safety. This Saturday, Los Angeles becomes the home to the Foundation?s first de mujer a mujer conference.

?And there?s a good chance that those who attend will walk out of the Omni Hotel on Saturday looking and feeling better than you ever have!

It?s all about mujeres. This conference is by the Latina, for the Latina and of the Latina! The steering committee is comprised of Latinas solamente, and these community leaders designed a program of fun and education aimed at helping Latinas.

Indeed, this conference is bilingual so you can bring your mama, comrades y abuelitas! But leave your novios, esposos y ni?os at the casa? Este evento es para ti! Each attendee gets a large athletic bag full of fantastic items such as lotions, creams, and more. Plus, an elegant lunch and a continental breakfast are included in this conference where participants are encouraged to meet and interact with the speakers.

An amazing array of inspirational and expert leaders will discuss a wide array of topics. Doctor Aliza Lifshitz ? a medical expert for Univision, Radio Unica and La Opini?n ? will be the morning keynote speaker and the empowering Ruth Lopez Williams ? CEO of Beverly Oncology & Imaging and Chairman of the Board for the Latin Business Association ? is the afternoon keynote speaker. Cecilia Bogr?n of Univision-34 will be the Mistress of Ceremonies.

Experts will lead attendees through a wide variety of topics such as:
- Navigating the HealthCare System
- Nutrition Without Frustration
- Protecting Yourself
- Staying Strong& Vital In Your 50?s, 60?s and Beyond
- Easy Steps to Financial Health
- Secret Dangers In Your Home
- Healthy Hearts
- Diabetes & Latinas
- Protect Your Sexual Health
- Spirituality & Whole Health
- Fitness, Yoga & Stress Reduction

The latest technology for health screenings is also available. Does diabetes run in your family? Maybe you want to know your odds for complications ? such as diabetic blindness ? but are not too keen on needles, get over to the ?Latino DREaM? booth: They will have you look into a view-finder and take a picture of your retina. A specialist will review the picture and you can find the results online the next day.

Or maybe you just want to take advantage of the massage therapists, facial experts and exhibit booths. The choice is yours; they are all the right choice. So make a day for the mujeres, and find out how to make your world a women?s world.

Note: All sessions, workshops and keynotes will be in English and Spanish.
