Las Palmas Sauces has partnered with Adopt A Beach for the second year in a row to help keep So-Cal beaches clean investing in the installation of Eco-Smart bins throughout Huntington Beach and Dockweiler Beach. As a result of sustained and new investments, the Adopt a Beach program is forecasting a 10% rise in contributions from corporate sponsors who, like Las Palmas Sauces, believe in being environmentally responsible everywhere, including at the beach.
The increased focus of companies on the environment is encouraging and aligns with people's growing disposition to safely dispose of their trash. According to measurements from Adopt A Beach, in 2014 an average of 679 pounds of recyclables per day were collected in March from bins located throughout Venice, Point Dume and Zuma beaches, with that amount rising to over 1,000 pounds of recyclables per day being collected from the bins by December. This study is a sampling of the beaches included in the program, but the increase in recyclables is consistent with the trend over the last number of years.
This further validates that the Eco-SmartÔäó bins are vital in helping beachgoers reduce the amount of trash that makes its way into the ocean and negatively impacts the environment and ocean life every year.
