Urbanismo at the Conga Room

PuroRock, the leading Latin alternative portal for Rock en Espa?ol in the United States, announces its Five year Anniversary Celebration, taking place on November 20. This event will be held at the world famous Conga Room and will feature some of the hottest and up and coming alternative bands from California as well as international headliners that along with our exclusive DJ's will rock the night away celebrating five years of fun-filled efforts to support the rock en espa?ol scene in the U.S.

Participating artists include El Leon, Maria Fatal, Del Castillo, Jorge Correa, & MC Skeey,

El Leon is a trio originally from New York City that has been playing their infectious enthusiastic version of Spanish rock since 1996. The trio is lead by two brothers, Leonel and Leandro Miguez. The years together are apparent as they play a very tight set joking with each other on stage, always smiling and encouraging the audience to dance along. Their engaging performance is well received by their fans. More at http://www.elleon.net

Latin rock band Maria Fatal became one of Los Angeles rock en espa?ol scene pioneers in the early '90s. Formed by brothers Gabriel, Ernesto, and Fernando Ramirez, joined by keyboardist Cesar Hernandez, the group started playing in Mexico City's club circuit before moving to the U.S., debuting with a self-titled album released by Aztl?n Records in 1994. Maria Fatal was the first U.S. Rock en Espa?ol group to have a multinational number one hit with their song "Portate Mal". With over 10 years of history and four great albums, Maria Fatal is without a doubt the essence of what making great rock en espa?ol is all about. More at http://www.mariafatal.net

Del Castillo was founded by brothers Rick and Mark del Castillo, whose fierce dual Spanish guitar approach makes them unique in both the rock and Latin worlds. The two moved to Austin from Brownsville , TX and were joined by vocalist Alex Ruiz, bassist Albert Besteiro, percussionist Rick "The Rev" Holeman and drummer Mike Zeoli. Together, they have fused old world "gitano" and new world flamenco with rock and blues. They were signed for management earlier this year by Austin's Lone Wolf Management Company and now have national talent agency representation through CAA. The band's music was featured in director Robert Rodriquez? hit film "Once Upon A Time In Mexico." Rodriguez also directed a live performance long-form DVD of the band that will be released shortly. Jorge Correa arrived in Miami from Mexico in search of new horizons. After years of frustrations just to make ends meet and when he was ready to pack it in, luck put him in the path of the renowned composer and producer Omar Alfano, who immediately took him under his wings . His first album "Coraz?n Ilegal" consists of ten songs and will be available in stores within the next few weeks under the musical label Alfanno Music distributed by Universal Music Latino. After all, he believes that this is only the beginning. He has many more songs to compose. "Carmelina", his first single, shows all the aspects of Correa's feelings and the rhythms that run under Correa's soul. More at http://www.terra.com/ocio/musica/promo/jorgecorrea/bio.html.

Skeey is truly the artist for the new millennium. His blend of traditional genres with today's musical influences will indeed be the blueprint for what's to come in Latin music.
