Sabor Latino Completes His Masters Degree

Roberto Torres, also known as Sabor Latino, is a hip hop artist and author from south east Jamaica Queens born on June 21, 1972.

He released his first album titled Observaciones de mi Vida vol1 on February 28, 2013.

After the recognition that Sabor Latino received from his first hip hop album, he decided to write an autobiography. On December 15, 2015 Sabor Latino released his autobiography titled "My Life Sabor Latino" in which touched so many individuals around the world.

In early 2016, Sabor Latino continued to build on his legacy as his new single titled "Anything in life is possible" was released.

During all this time Sabor Latino never gave up on his biggest goal of his life in which it was to complete his master's degree from Lehman College, located in the Bronx in NYC. After five years of going to school part time, working full time, writing songs, and working on his second book due for publishing in 2017 titled "My greatest songs and poems", Sabor Latino was able to complete his Master's degree this winter December, 2016 from Lehman College.

"This has been my biggest challenge of my life," explains the artist. "It has been such incredible experience learning from so many great professors at Lehman College."

In addition, Sabor Latino was able to land a position in a city agency of NYC as a preventive service child welfare case worker in which the agency works inside of public schools all around Queens NY. The artist states that, "Getting this position has allowed me to work more closely with children and families all over southeast Queens."

It has been a blessing to be able to inspire so many children in need of a Latino role model continues to say the artist. I can now identify with so many of these families. In addition, the artist states, "Now that I have completed my education at a high level, I can share my experiences with the children and families that are in need of a positive voice in their lives. Sabor Latino does not plan on stopping now, as he just recently finished writing his third book titled, "125 quotes gathered from my life observations" in which he plans to release in early 2018. It's a book that the artist states he wrote to inspire the world to change for the better. His quotes will allow everyone that reads the book to see that life is about helping others and being their shining star in moments of crisis.

In addition, the artist states that moving forward in his life in his new chapter, he will focus more time to giving back to his community as not only a voice, but as a productive member of society. We need to end racism, wars, and respect one another to move this country forward in a positive way for future generations to come says the artist. He truly believes in his heart that we can collectively make this world a better place to live.

I would like to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you to all my professors at Lehman College for inspiring me to be a better student and person. The experiences that I have learned at Lehman College will forever live in my heart. Wherever I step ground in the world, I will never forget where I come from.

Being a social worker is not an easy thing, but my satisfaction from this profession comes from the children that I have helped changed their lives and are now in the right path in life.

My quote to the world is "Never give up on you dreams." You can accomplish whatever you set your mind to do. I would also like to thanks all my basketball friends for all your support. To all my family, thank you for all your love and support. To my son Jacob, I am very proud of you and I will always be here for you to inspire you to be the best person you can be.

To both of my nephews, Gabriel and Joshua, I am very proud of who you both have become. Congratulations on the new chapter of your lives. Love you always. Thanks, for everyone's love and support.
