Rumba Room Live Begins Life Again in Orange County

Finally, after years of eager anticipation, the new Rumba Room Live has finally open its doors in Anaheim, California. The former Rumba Room was a popular Latin and Salsa club located inside the Universal Citywalk entertainment complex for over a decade and closed its doors at the end of 2011.

I began my love for salsa around the same time as the original Rumba Room opened its doors. Full disclosure, I was featured in their first promotional video which was broadcast on the huge Jumbotron in the center of the CityWalk complex. I was never compensated but was asked to sign a release. I was happy to oblige because I love salsa and wanted to see the club succeed. I received a lot of phone calls and emails after from friends telling me they saw me dancing on the jumbo screen TV as well as praise from KLVE radio personality Oscar Abadia who would broadcast his popular salsa and tropical show "Sábados Bailables" live from the Rumba Room.

So, when I received word that the Rumba Room Live would be resurrected at the Anaheim GardenWalk, I was ecstatic. That was May 2013 and the years passed by without a word. Finally, at the tail end of December 2016, Rumba Room Live begins life again in Orange County. And salsa dancers could not be happier.

So, far the club has featured some premier talent. For the December 16, 2016 grand opening, five-time Orange County Music Award winning Boogaloo Assassins took the stage. Their fresh New York boogaloo sound kept people dancing all night.

The Rumba Room Live has dedicated Sundays to salsa with free cover, rotating DJs and live salsa bands. The first Salsa Sunday began with the ever popular Tabaco y Ron with their straight-ahead salsa sound. The club is beautifully decorated with a start-of-the-art sound system. Some dancers would like the dance floor to be bigger but, for salseros, the dance floor is never big enough.

Costa Rican sensation Chino Espinosa y los Dueños del Son kicked off the holiday season on Thursday, December 22 with father & son vocalist Chino el Sonero and his son Jake.

The 2017 new year countdown was welcomed by bachata sensation Karlos Rosé at their New Year's Eve celebration with a surprise marriage proposal by one of the guests. She said yes by the way. You can watch it at the [url=https://www.facebook.com/RumbaRoomLive]Rumba Room Live Facebook page. /url]

The first Salsa Sunday for 2017 featured Conjunto Oye with Peruvian vocalist Roosevelt Cordova as more and more people come to visit this incredible new venue.

The venue is 21 and over and there is no cover charge. Parking is not validated by Rumba Room Live and is $3 an hour with a $15 maximum. The new Rumba Room Live is located inside the Anaheim GardenWalk entertainment and dining complex at 400 Disney Way #201, Anaheim, CA 92802.
