McDonald's SoCal Celebrates Young Latino Athletes

On Saturday, January 21st, McDonald's of Southern California awarded the young athletes of the Hank Lacayo Youth & Family Center's "La Canchita" soccer program with brand new uniforms and soccer gear. McDonald's SoCal celebrated the spirit and accomplishments of "La Canchita" alongside head coach Luis Millanao Olivares and all the children that form part of the eight "La Canchita" teams. Proud parents were also in attendance and were excited to see their children receive the new uniforms, soccer balls and field cones. Following the presentation, the young players enjoyed a special Happy Meal luncheon.

As a non-profit organization, the Hank Lacayo Youth & Family Center soccer program is open to all children of the San Fernando Valley, and the only requirement to participate is to own a white t-shirt. Olivares established this policy in order to open up the opportunity to play to all community children, regardless of income level.

Regarding the donation, Olivares stated "January 21st is a date we'll never forget."
