Singer/Songwriter Catie Waters is set to perform at The Mint, on June 3rd at 8:00 PM. The famed nightclub is located at 6010 Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90035.
The young 20-year old songstress has a voice described as a blend of R&B, Pop, and neo soul, with undertones of jazz and funk grooves. She is frequently compared to the late Amy Winehouse. Make no mistake, Catie Waters' own unique eclectic sound has caught the attention of the music industry.
"I'm flattered with the Amy [Winehouse] compliments. She's had a big influence in my style. The fusion between her old soul and new sound is similar to my own," Waters said.
The soulful singer hails from a small town in Northern Arkansas and Dallas. Being Latino and Caucasian has enabled her to observe different societal views--with many of her experiences influencing her songwriting. "I've always written my own songs--whatever gives me inspiration," she explained.
Waters writes organic songs with tremendous depth--songs that inspire and motivate change. Accompanied by her band who consist of front men for artists like Erykah Badu, Cory Henry and The Funk Apostles, Marcus Miller, Tamala Mann, Snarky Puppy, LeAnn Rimes and Nick Jonas, Waters will introduce two new songs from her upcoming EP at her June 3rd performance at The Mint.
"I've performed at many venues. This is my second time at The Mint!" She said with enthusiasm. "I will be standing on the same stage where so many of my idols have performed before me--Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Macy Gray, The Wallflowers, Nat King Cole, BB King, Natalie Merchant, Lou Rawls…."
Waters is collaborating with Beyonce's "Best Thing I Never Had" co-producer, Caleb Sean, on her untitled upcoming EP releasing in the fall of this year. She is an ASCAP Plus Award recipient and a member of The Recording Academy. Catie Waters is repped by Manager Cindy Castro DiRusso, Smarter Move Talent; Momentum Talent Agency and The Herrera Agency.
