Vista L.A. celebrates its tenth anniversary and Cinco de Mayo with East L.A. rock band Los Lobos and other local community heroes.
This special edition of Vista L.A. will air Sunday, May 2, at 11am on ABC7 with hosts Eyewitness News anchor Jovana Lara and Henry Alfaro. The celebration honors five leaders in the Latino community: Father Greg Boyle of Homeboy Industries, the Latino Theater Company, labor leader Maria Elena Durazo, Self-Help Graphics & Art and Plaza de la Raza. The special anniversary show will also take a look back at Vista L.A.?s ten year history in which it has won four local Emmys as well as three prestigious Imagen awards.
In March of 1994, ABC7?s Vista L.A. began as a one of a kind program in southern California ? a weekly show dedicated to reflect the changing face of Los Angeles. As the Latino population has grown in Southern California and across the country, ABC7 is proud of Vista L.A. as it keeps our viewers informed about our rapidly changing world.
