Christina Aguilera is taking advantage of this summer's cancelled tour to churn out two new albums, one English, one Spanish language. Although not going into too much detail about the new albums, Aguilera did hint that she's been "flirting with old '20s and 30's looks and styles and movies and old pinups".

The Latin Recording Academy has unanimously elected songwriter and producer Kike Santander as its new Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Starbucks will be selling a compilation CD featuring Juanes, Santana, Alicia Keys and others from the "We are the Future" concert, which took place in Rome this past May. The CD will be available at Starbuck locations throughout North America in July with all proceeds to benefit the We Are the Future program.

Gloria Estefan's upcoming world tour in 2004/2005 will be her last, according to a letter to fans on the singer's website. Estefan plans to continue writing and recording music and will also be working on her film project based on Connie Francis' life.

Hispanic Magazine's June issue lists the top 25 Vendor programs for Latinos - or companies that partner with Hispanic entrepreneurs for purchasing supplies. Congrats to Latin GRAMMY winning act La Ley who sold out Chicago's Navy Pier this week as part of its Chivas Regal US summer tour. The tour hits Florida next with shows at the Hard Rock Cafe in Ft. Lauderdale and Masquerade in Tampa, onto various stops in Texas, and continuing to the West coast with stops in Las Vegas, San Diego, Fresno, Los Angeles and more. Winners from the 10th annual Los Angeles Film Festival were announced on Saturday, with "Maria Full of Grace" winning the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature - a story about a Colombian teenager coerced into smuggling drugs into the US by swallowing balloons filled with heroin. The film debuted last January at the Sundance Film Festival and will be released by Fine Line Features later this summer.

Many telecommunication companies are expanding efforts to increase their Hispanic customer bases - Sprint has now added a new international wireless calling plan and a Mexico prepaid calling card with flat rate pricing, Nextel expanded its walkie-talkie services to Mexico and AT&T announced the addition of the AT&T Unlimited Mexican Cities Plan, which allows unlimited calling from consumer homes to six popular cities including Guadalajara, Leon, DF, Monterrey, Puebla and Toluca.

The Red Zone Latin alternative radio show hit the airwaves again on LA's beloved alternative station Indie 103.1 FM. The show features the hottest music, interviews and live performances by cutting-edge Latin artists from around the world. The Red Zone debuted in 1999, making history as the first Latin specialty show to air on an English-language commercial station and can now be heard Tuesdays 10 pm - midnight in LA, and online at www.Indie1031.fm. A new comic book hit stores this week, featuring a Latina teen super hero. "Amazing Fantasy", which takes place in New York City, and whose main character is Aranya Corazon. Not your typical super hero, the 15-year old gymnast from Brooklyn sports tennis shoes, cargo pants and a baby doll t-shirt with a spider emblem. The Marvel Comic character doesn't have a "super hero" name yet (Aranya is the character's real name), but has several of the same abilities as Spider Man.

Wells Fargo announced a 20% reduction for sending remittances to Mexico from the US through its InterCuenta Express product.

Cheech Marin is set to make his directorial debut in the romantic comedy "Se?or Dracula", based on the 1930's version of "Dracula" which was shot in both English and Spanish using the same set and different casts.

Mexican President Vicente Fox signed an initiative last week that would allow absentee voting for Mexicans abroad.

Corona Extra is launching "Rumbo a la Fama al Ritmo Corona" - a talent search for two guest hosts of a New York City concert featuring singer/actress Roselyn Sanchez. Winners will introduce Sanchez and other music stars on stage at a September 16th concert at Club Black.

Jamie Lynn Discala (Sopranos) will co-star with Amanda Bynes in the romantic comedy "Lovewrecked", to be shot in the Dominican Republic.

Jack Daniel's and iCaramba.com present the Latino Comedy Series, showcasing 13 weeks of Latino comedy at various venues throughout New York City beginning in July and running through October.

Be sure to catch Urban Latino TV this week, featuring two brothers working in Hip Hop and Hollywood, Ulysses and Jessy Terrero; legendary Tejano and pop star Selena; the evolution of the Chicano Art movement; fashion designer Susana Mercedes; and Latino rappers Cypress Hill.

Freddie Prinze Jr is suing his ex-manager, Ric Beddingfield, alleging that Beddingfield urged him to hire an accountant that wasn't a CPA, causing the loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
