Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?

For the past 5 years, I have been priviliged to broadcast and host a popular Chicano flavored radio show on the World Wide Web. What started off as a dare, a hobby, and an experiment, has now reached the different corners of the globe, with the terms "CHICANO" and "CHICANO MUSIC" now familiar in places like Japan, England, Germany, Iraq, Hawaii and Australia, as well as all over the country like never before.

I have met so many talented musicians, singers, writers, comedians, poets, fellow DJ's, and promoters through the venue of Internet Radio and the World Wide Web , that I can truly say that we have made our mark on this world, and people who previously had dismissed, disregarded and disrespected us are now taking a second look, and having serious reconsiderations.

For that, I am thankful that I was given a chance to be part of it. I hope God gives me the strength & years to keep it going.

But, life is an expense...and expenses mount up to either be addressed, or be cut.

Like a lot of things, the cost of producing and broadcasting a weekly Radio music show has risen from an out-of-pocket hobby expense, to a serious cost of living expense. No amount of well wishes and good thoughts can avoid this reality.

Bringin' it back, and keepin' it alive, unfortunately is not free. I wish I could say that in a more palatable way, but there is none. Hence, the basis of this article.

I need your help & support to help keep the music alive World Wide. I'm asking Gente to spare a dime..ten bucks. Less than the cost of a 12 pack and a pack of cigarettes.

Not a lot, but with all the Gente that love the music united, together we could keep it alive without bowing to commercial interests that really don't care about people's taste in music...especially Oldies but Goodies and Latin Soul music lovers.

Please...help me keep it alive. I don't know how else to seek the support of mi Gente, but to ask. Without your help, there is no music.
