Keeping It Alive

The weather is getting cool, but not the musical action in Aztlan. The Gente love a good time, and a good cause. Southern Califas is truly the Land of 1000 dances.

That being said, let's keep it rolling!

As I've said many times before, one of my fantasies is to host a dream concert with the two most hottest Chicano bands in the land, The East L.A. Revue All Star Band and The Satisfaction Band.

Both these groups have captured the attention of just about everyone in the last two years, as they have both honed their unique individual trademark sound that keeps the Gente happy, on the dance floor, and steppin' out on a regular basis. I have indeed been privileged to call them my friends, and share their company .

Over the last five years, I have hosted an internet radio show, "The 2nd Time Around" that has slowly garnered a world wide audience.

Starting off as a dare, and a frustration at the commercial music world's subtle disregard for the music tastes of the American-born Latino & Black audience 35 years & older who love that "Eastside cruising sound," I began broadcasting a 30 minute show that focused on rare & hard to find Oldies but Goodies, little known or forgotten artists and their early take on rock n roll, and english language Latin soul music.

That idea evolved and blossomed into a two hour show, and involvement with numerous Gente that I found were on "the same trip." I began making friends with singers, webmasters, actors, comedians, musicians, writers, promoters, producers and so many of the wonderful Gente that make up the aforementioned audience from all over the Country.

Now, I want to put that all together and share it with my Gente by throwing a party and inviting everyone!

With the assistance of Cory Silva & Midnight Productions, in conjunction with the Club Montebello (formerly the Montebello Inn), and some of the hottest Chicano talent in music, my dream concert will become a reality while also serving as a benefit concert to help keep my show on the World wide internet airwaves.

On November 5th, 2004, at the Club Montebello, the party will include performances by:

The East L.A. Revue All Star Band

Comedian Gilbert Esquivel

Singer Cory Silva

Singer Pepe Marquez, Chicano singer from Santa Barbara

..and at the time of this writing, other performers have offered to suprise guest.

Author Ruben Molina ("The Old Barrio Guide to Lowrider music") and actor Danny De La Paz ("Blvd Nights", "American me") will be on hand to mingle with the Gente and sign autographs. Many other celebrities will be among the audience....can you guess who?

There will be music and souveniers for sale, raffle prizes, beautiful Gente, lot's of music & dancing, and one hell of a good time!

I will be your host & Emcee, and I will be ever so honored to see you there!

Thank you all for your continued support of Chicano music...let's party!!!!!!!
