Celestial Seasonings Latino Teas?

Celestial Seasonings has created four new tea flavors to appeal to the Hispanic market. The new line of teas includes herbs and flavors popular in Hispanic culture, such as mint, honey, lemon, cinnamon and chamomile. Packaging for the new teas will contain Spanish-first bilingual copy.

Clear Channel communications launched its new bilingual HURBAN (Hispanic Urban) radio format on KLOL Mega 101, which combines Spanish Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, and dance music. The station will target Latino youths and will be hosted in a combination of English & Spanish. KLOL is said to be the first of a number of Clear Channel stations that will flip to a bilingual youth format.

Mexico's Premios Oye! Awards took place last week, and Julieta Venegas was the big winner of the night, taking home three awards for Album of the Year and Rock Album of the Year for Si, and Song of the Year for the single Andar Conmigo. Other winners included Joan Sebastian, Belinda, Climax, Banda Recodo, Pepe Aguilar, and Intocable.

William Perez, a 36-year veteran at S.C. Johnson, will replace billionaire Phil Knight as President & CEO of the Nike empire.

Rosario Dawson is set to portray the AIDS stricken stripper, Mimi Marquez, in the film adaptation of the award winning play Rent.

43 Cuban artists from the musical review "Havana Night Club - The Show" have filed petitions for political asylum this week in Las Vegas, where they had been performing at the Stardust Casino since August. Several more artists from the troupe are expected to file for asylum upon their arrival from Germany, making it the biggest defection from Cuba to date.

Andrea Echeverri, the lead singer of Colombia's acclaimed Grammy-nominated rock band Aterciopelados, will showcase material from her forthcoming self-titled solo debut album on November 24th at the Vault 350 in Long Beach as part of the La Banda Elastica Magazine Awards concert. Raul Calvo has been named VP/Director of Sales for Clear Channel Radio Sales Hispanic. Calvo will manage and oversee CCRS Hispanic sales efforts to the media community.

Batanga.com has teemed with Jeep to launch the New Artist Adventure, or "Aventura" broadcast channel which will give a new Latin music artist the opportunity to receive a professionally produced, album quality track of an original composition under the direction of Grammy award producer Sebastian Krys (Shakira, Carlos Vives, Gloria Estefan).
