Director Gregory Nava (Selena) has tapped Jennifer Lopez to star in the film Bordertown. The story has Lopez portraying a journalist investigating the murders that take place along the Texas/Mexico border. The film is a fiction piece based on the real-life murders of hundreds of women of Juarez.
The Billboard Latin Music Conference is proud to announce a Q&A with Chayanne. Leila Cobo, Billboard's Bureau Chief - Miami/Latin, will conduct a one-on-one interview with the singer. Chayanne, who on March 29th will release "Desde Siempre", a compilation of romantic hits, is one of Latin music's biggest and most consistent stars. The Puerto Rican singer has recorded a total of 11 studio albums as a soloist. Two of those albums made it to No. 1 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums; four made it to the Top 10. Eight of Chayanne's hit singles have made it to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin tracks chart. Congrats to the film Cowboy Del Amor for winning both the Jury and Audience awards at the SXSW Film Festival this week. The documentary is based on Ivan Thompson, a matchmaker who takes men to Mexico to find wives to bring back to the US.

Pass the Mic!, a film highlighting Latinos' contributions to Hip Hop and Rap music, will screen as one of the six documentaries chosen for AFI's Fourth Annual Music Documentary Series. Filmmakers Richard Montes and Jessica Martinez along with featured music artists will be on hand for the screening on April 13th at Arc Light Cinemas in Hollywood, CA. American Idol finalist, Mario Vazquez, quit the competition right before finals began this week, due to personal reasons. However new information surfaced that the reasons might not be so personal, rather legal. Vazquez has now hired entertainment attorney Jess L. Rosen, who also repped Clay Aiken to release him from his management contract with Simon Fuller.
