What a year it has been, que no? And we're barely at the halfway point!

Killer rains, floods, gas & home prices getting out of control, landslides, train wrecks, the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan continue, the loss of Chicano Rock & Roll & Tejano music legends, car chases on TV, earthquakes, Govenor Arnold trying to rip off Public Pensions while trying to convince us how good it is for "the people" (HIS people), me & Disneyland turning 50....
...OK, so the last 2 aren't so bad, but it has been a trying 6 months, no?
Well, mi Gente...no te precupes...The Goddess of Ritmo has returned and declared "Ya basta!" to your present worries, and kicks Summer 2005 into high gear.
The weather is getting better, Califas~USA is still the Land of 1000 Dances with some of the most beautiful people & music anywhere on earth, and it's time to converge on the fabled & mystical Califas West Coast... to the seabreeze and sunshine kissed "Barrio by the Sea", Oxnard, California, for the 12th Annual Oxnard Salsa Festival, July 30th & 31st.
Getting bigger and better every year, the Gente de Oxnard look to exceed last year's attendance of 45,000 people by making everybody on the Planet feel welcome, with free admission, free parking, plenty of food & drink, and some of the best Salsa music and dancing in the World...with the Goddess of Ritmo providing only the most perfect weather!
Also featuring: The most talked about Salsa tasting contest, Salsa dance contests and exhibitions, free Salsa dance lessons, and some of the finest artworks and crafts from the most talented artists de Aztlan. Music, t-shirts, & other souveniers will also be available.
A two day open air Festival in the sunshine & seabreeze of Southern California is just what we all need right about now, and The Downtown Oxnard Merchant's Association, Pablo Ortiz & Gold Coast Broadcasting Corporation, and the wonderful people of Oxnard are pulling out all the stops to makes this year's Festival memorable and fun for the whole family, with a children's area available, so Moms & Dads can get their "motion by the ocean" going, as only good music makes it so!
