Where are the Chicano Artists?

Well, with Self Help Graphics and Arts closed, where does one go to find Chicano artists?

This week and weekend there's a variety of places you can go to catch some of them. On Thursday night four of them will be having a reception in Pasadena. On Friday and Saturday evening one will be display her artworks in South Pasadena and on Saturday and Sunday a group of them will be at La Mano Press for a festival along with other Angelino artists. So put aside your inhibitions and dance to the cool latin Jazz of Elliott Caine..outdoors in Zona's Les Alley Hot. Wear your fun Salsa outfits...you know the over the top short ruffle skirt and el suave dress shirt bien planchadito.

Julio promises to bring guacamole and a nopales munchi tray from Cinco Puntos. Vibiana will again bring her exquisito quesitos and yummy humous and tabouli. Alexander promises to put out his giganto strawberries and Roberto's wife will again bowl you over with her tray of vegis for the diet conscious.

Zona Rosa Caffe is located north of The Pasadena Playhouse near the Laemmle Movie House and Vroman's Book Store.

A free outdoor festival highlighting original works of art, apparel, records, graphic work, ceramics and toys -some new some used-offered by an eclectic mix of talented Angelino artists. Food will be available for purchase.

Plus DJ music and a special appearance by Low Tide #5 with their California surfing - Latin flavor sounds.
