Why do we take them?

Risk

Risk - the measurable possibility of losing or not gaining value.

Why do we take them?

Not knowing what the outcome will be we risk our hearts and emotions hoping that the right person will take the risk you've taken and value it. Grow with you in love and maybe life. But you never know so you hold back. You change the way you are or act because you're afraid that person might hurt you. You don't say what you feel because they may not feel the same way. Or maybe you do take the risk, maybe you hold them near to your heart and share the same feelings and words and you try to grow together. But there always seems to be something that makes you feel unsure, uncertain - like you might lose what you put out there. But how will you know if you don't take the risk to find out. Should we live so cautiously that we miss out on something that might make us feel alive, not just content that you're okay.. but "happy", loved and "in love". I want that kind of happiness. I know I can't be promised that my heart will never be broken or that I'll never hurt or feel sad, but at least promise that you'll be true to your feelings. Promise that if I give you my heart that you'll do your best to keep it. So I'm willing to take the risk...if you are.
