The 8th annual Festival Navide?o en la Calle Ocho, Los Angeles will take place on Saturday, December 10 & Sunday, December 11 of 2005 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The festival will cover 10 city blocks, from Normandie (Irolo) St. to Vermont Avenue and from 7th to James Wood Street in the City of Los Angeles.

Festival President/Founder Edgar N. Palacios stated, ?After 10 consecutive years of distributing toys and providing joy to the children of our community, we?ve arrived to the eighth annual musical festival and a quarter of a million toys distributed.? The FESTIVAL NAVIDE?O EN LA CALLE OCHO, Los Angeles is considered one of the most important toy give-away festivals in the West Coast.

During the two-day festival, top billboard musical talent will be presented as well as our great local talent. We will have great taste from diverse Latin food, clowns, mechanical rides, a carnival, petting zoo and more. Gifts, toys and merchandise will be given away at no cost on Sunday from 3 P.M. and from the hands of celebrities, politicians and special guests. This year, the Mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa, The Speaker of the California Assembly Fabian Nu?ez and, the LA 10th District Councilman Herb J. Wesson Jr. will kick-off the toy giveaway. There will also be a guest appearance by Santa Claus with many gifts for the children. This event is free to the general public. Attendance for this event is expected to be over 70,000 people. More than 40,000 toys will be donated and given away this year.

The FESTIVAL NAVIDE?O EN LA CALLE OCHO, Los Angeles proudly announces the list of more than 30 musical talents representing an impressive range of musical genre from Latin America; from Salsa to Urban, including Norte?o, Cumbia, Banda and other important musical sounds. Some of the artists scheduled to participate this year are: Los Cadetes de Linares de F?lix Gallego, Los Fugitivos, Orquesta Guayao, Briza, Flakiss, Los Vaquetones, JP, Internacional Sonora Pachanga, La Bomba Mix, Los Bondadosos, Roberto Reveles El Nuevo Patron, Salsalicious, Son de Venus, Sue?o Norte?o, J Smooth, and many others.
