Greetings. I am Steven Chavez, President of Rampart Records in East Los Angeles, California. It is with great excitement and anticipation that I announce a collaborative effort with Frankie Firme, Internet Radio DJ, and Rampart Records on a new music CD. We have finalized an agreement to produce; Frankie Firme presents, "16 Rare and Golden Treasures from the Vaults of Rampart Records, Volume One."
Presently, there are several licensed singles and albums from the Rampart Record Group in the USA, in Europe, and in Japan. This is the first music CD produced by Rampart Records since Eddie Davis, founder of Faro and Rampart Records, passed away. We dedicate this CD to his memory and our deepest appreciation to the legacy he left for Chicano Rock and Roll.
The CD contains 16 songs; some have never been released on CD and many for the first time released on CD in the United States. The last time these rare recordings were released was on 45 RPM (Revolutions per Minute) vinyl singles. We have rediscovered some of the original singles from the rare and original acetate discs from the early 1960s. The sound is true, and faithfully re-mastered, and will take you back.
Frankie Firme and Rampart Records are bringing it back and keeping it alive like nobody else can. The history of these rare recordings and exclusive photos of the artists will be included in the packaging.
The songs include: "Boo Hoo Hoo" by The Atlantics with a very young Barry White; "Don't Play with Love" by Phil and Del; "Dearest" by Larry Tamblyn; "I Wish I Didn't Love You So" by Bob Nolan; "Do Yourself a Favor" by The Rhythm Rockets; "She's My Baby" by The Heartbreakers; "One Like Mine" by Steve and Rudy Salas; "I Did the Wrong Thing" by The Romancers; "Home on the Range" by Barry White and the Soul Babies; "Get Out My Life Woman" by The Royal Checkmates, featuring a 16-year-old Aaron Ballesteros on drums; "Come Swim With Me" by Ramon Jimenez (Lil Ray); "It's Gonna' Work Out Fine" by The Mixtures; "Takin' Care of Business" by Sarah James; "Corazon de Hotel" by Mickey and the MexTex; and, "Golpe Traidor" by Lava and the Hot Rocks.
We are excited about the music and equally as excited to be working with Frankie Firme. The Rampart Record Group is dedicated to presenting the best quality sound and music possible.
We plan to release this music CD in August 2006. The locations of retail stores with the music CD will be announced when more information is available.
I am also proud to announce that LatinoLA is our Media Sponsor for this production.
