Hope the summer heat hasn't slowed you and yours down, as Aztlan continues to sizzle with music, dancing, happenings, & good times.
It's still hot & heavy over in the Middle East, and we all share a prayer for our brave Men & Women in uniform serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Persian gulf. Please keep them in your heart, and pray that common sense among those who make decisions settles in...and they come home soon, and the madness ends...at least for us and ours should others see different. DON'T LET THEM BE FORGOTTEN!

Author Ruben Molina (The Old Barrio Guide to Lowrider Music ~ Mictlan publishers) has come across some more classic cruising sounds that can & will increase your collection of cruising music, which are added to his ever popular Chicano music store. From San Antonio, Texas, Volume III of "Chicano Soul~ San Antonio's Westside Sound" is hot off the press with 20 soulful love ballads. From New York, where they're re~discovering what we've known on the West Coast all along, that the sweet & mellow Latin Soul boleros & ballads never get old or go out of style, with the release of "The Sweeter Side of Latin Soul". Not to leave out the homies from the Land of 1000 Dances, who help keep it alive no matter where music trends flow before they come back, Ruben's latest release, "South Side Soul, 25 rare, Sweet Soul Classics, Vol 2" comes at you today, just released this weekend, from the hometown of East L.A. All told, 66 rare & hard to find, tight Chicano cruising classics on 3 new CD's. For more info: www.mictlan.com

Keep it alive, keep it real, mi Gente. Keep your head up, respect & protect our women & children, fight the scourge of drugs, alcohol, child abuse, domestic violence, ignorance through lack of education, and Brown on Brown violence that is keeping our people down...and don't forget our people in uniform in the Middle East.
