Little Red Rides Into Boyle Heights

CASA 0101 has been doing wonderful theater that speaks directly to us Latinos and Latinas since 2000. During the past year after Josefina Lopez went to work in France, our little theater faced some challenges of trying to keep it's existing audiences, while embracing the issues of other cultures that we are co-joined with in many ways.

It is very exciting to be able to announce that we are returning to the heart of our earlier productions with a passionate and beautiful adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood, that we have lovingly shortened to just "Little Red". This musical adaptation of the classic tale is inspired by recent marches, rallys and other events impacting our nation.

Our Chicana Red faces issues of tradition versus selfness, while being pulled between a seductive wolf (Don Coyote) and a troubled militant Chicano Woodsman (name is too long to mention).

Come back to CASA 0101 and see our wonderful new musical, opening July 20th, 2006, and running through August 20th, 2006. CASA 0101 resident artists, Anthony Aguilar and Oscar Basulto wrote the book, and the Music and Lyrics are by Aaron Fischer and Rebekah Melocik.

Ticket prices are $12 (13 and over) and $8 (12 and under). Discounts are available for Boyle Heights Residents (90023, 90033, and 90063) at $10 and $5. For reservations and more information, go to www.CASA0101.org or call (323) 263-7684.

Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m. (Possible additional performances available after August 5th).

We are currently seeking sponsors for this special production. If you or anyone you know can donate products for our visiting children (juices, snacks, etc.) or even make a donation, please send us an email at info@casa0101.org. Thank you.
