IMIX Bookstore, 5052 Eagle Rock Blvd, LA, CA
323.257.2512 imixbooks@sbcglobal.net www.imixbooks.com

Hermano is not a person, it's a concept. It reminds us of our strengths as people living through & confronting a life full of consumerism (Babylon). It is about the very essence of humanity - spirit, love, family, culture and friendship. Even when these most critical human elements are oppressed, the human spirit with its unyielding power triumphs over all. When we cannot act, we express the spirit through sound, communicating ideas with lyrics and music. Some conjure up strength and courage to proactively revolt against the oppression.

As an artist, Gabriel Romo uses Hermano to celebrate the extraordinary power and love of people manifested through such expressions. Gabriel is part of a growing genre of urban artists changing the scene of traditional and non-traditional art. He is a US born Mexican with strong cultural roots and a vision of an inclusive society. His preferred medium is acrylics on canvas and wood. He uses spray paint and stencils to reproduce his original works of art as a limited edition series.
