CAVA Breaks Out

Local band CAVA in a battle of the bands, please show your support!

Claudia Gonzalez reemerges with Cava, a project that continues the evolution of Latin music in Los Angeles. Her voice communicates a strong-willed feminine energy that is simultaneously sultry and maternal. Cava is a combination of sounds unique to a Mexican-American upbringing. The musical influences range from legendary artists such as, Celia Cruz, Chayito Valdez, Benny More to Nina Simone, John Coltrane and The Skatalites.

The young up & coming musicians together create a jazzy blend of traditional son, cumbia, ska and salsa. The ensemble features piano, electric keyboards, bass, trumpet, drums, timbales and even Taiko drums!

CAVA is a new beginning for Claudia Gonzalez, singer and songwriter. Her original compositions speak of the struggles of human emotions, our experiences and desires, the frustration and beauty of motherhood and life.

Less than a year into the project, CAVA is finding new sides of her songwriting skills and introducing a new female perspective, ready tell her story as it is lived through her eyes.
