According to a recent SEC filing, Univision will be selling its music publishing and recording entities as well as some of its radio stations. The sale would bring in about $500 million.

Peru's government has launched "Peru: La hora sin demora", a new campaign to erradicate lateness. The campaign launches March 1st with the synchronization of all clocks to the official Peruvian Marine time.

Mexican authorities raided Mexico City's Tepito neighborhood in part of President Felipe Calderon's war on drugs. Hundreds of officers stormed the area focusing on "The Fortress", a known cocaine and marijuana distribution hub.

Billboard Latin Music Awards finalists were announced last week. Among this year's nominees are Shakira, Ricky Martin, Rakim y Ken-Y, Julieta Venegas, Yuridia, RBD, Mana and more. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Miami on April 26th.

Miguel Ferrer has joined AOL Latino as the new Programming Director. Ferrer was previously Business Development Manager at People en Espa??ol.

"The Ministers", the latest film from writer, producer and director Franc Reyes (Empire), wraps production in New York this week. The action thriller stars John Leguizamo and Harvey Keitel.

Ugly Betty's America Ferrera and boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams announced their engagement last week.

Jennifer Lopez received the Artists for Amnesty Award from Amnesty International at the Berlin Film Festival for her work as producer and star of "Bordertown". Unfortunately the film did not do so well with the audience at the festival, with several media outlets reporting that the film was booed.

Three Salvadorean legislators were killed and their bodies burned in Guatemala this week. The visiting politicians were members of the Nationalist Republican Alliance, El Salvador's current ruling party.

A Mexican federal court rejected Duane "Dog" Chapman's injunction request, giving the go-ahead to continue with extradition proceedings so Chapman can be charged in a Mexican court in connection with his 2003 capture of Andrew Luster, convicted rapist and Max Factor heir, in Puerto Vallarta.

Heroes del Silencio will reunite for an upcoming tour this fall with shows set for Guatemala, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, Mexico City and Zaragoza. The iconic Spanish rock group broke up in 1996.

Mun2 has rolled out a new "Check Your Balance" image campaign asking viewers "Are you too gringo?". The contraversial spots, created by La Comunidad, recommend Mun2 to young bicultural viewers in order to reconnect with their Latino roots.

2008's Rock in Rio will be held in Madrid June 27th and 28th and July 4th and 6th and also in Portugal in May and June. The only confirmed artist so far is Alejandro Sanz.

Simon Brand's "Unknown" is now available on DVD. The film, starring Jim Cazaviel and Greg Kinnear, tells the story of five men who wake up in a warehouse with no recollection or who they are or who is bad or good.

Showtime will air comedian Alex Reymundo's "Hick-spanic: Live in Albuquerque" on March 3rd. The one-hour special was taped at Albuquerque's National Hispanic Cultural Center.
