La Cholita

LA CHOLITA ~ LA's Homegirl and reigning queen of Burlesque!

Influenced by her upbringing in the calles of L.A., her unparalleled unique style of old Hollywood glamour meets Chola gangster is shaking things up in the hot world of burlesque.

In a scene where most girls are mediocre copy cats of those who came before, La Cholita is paving her own path and bringing some much needed Chicana flavor to the mix.

With acts ranging from Dia De Los Muertos, Folklorico, Mariachi meets Mae West and Lowrider Loca, Miss Ayi ayi ayi, the Mexican Marilyn, and Latina firecracker as she is often referred to has already represented on the stages of LA, New York, SF, Las Vegas and CANADA making quite an impression.

After seeing her performance at the Cannibal Flower, photographer Paul Zollo writes "Unlike many other stars of the burgeoning Hollywood burlesque movement who dance in an arcane, somewhat hypnotic way, La Cholita took the stage like a fast-moving train, dancing with an exotic and fiery intensity, stripping, bumping, grinding, and leaving mouths agape."

Her elaborate costumes which feature mini-sombreros and trademark Mexican flag pasties, fierce energy and larger than life stage presence are a force like none other, and recently won her the coveted "Miss Viva Las Vegas" title making her the first Latina ever to earn the honor!

She also co-produced and performed at the sold-out highly-acclaimed Variety Show "Caliente @ Casa 0101" featuring burlesque, comedy, Chicana Fashion, live music and silent auction to benefit the Boyle Heights Latina Independent Film Extravaganza ( which provides grants and awards to emerging Latina filmmakers from across the nation.

Proving that this Cholita's always got her homegirls' back!

This summer she'll hit the road for a west coast tour before taking over the world! Checkout
