Los Angeles based "out" gay blatino (3/4 mexican, 1/4 black) hip hop artist Deadlee's music video for Good Soldier II (featuring Canada's Micah Barnes) has shot to the number one position on MTV/LOGO's The Click List after months on the chart.
The Click List is LOGO's Weekly Top 10 countdown of the latest and hottest music videos by LGBT artists or those that their largely LGBT audience has voted into the top ten via online voting.
Deadlee's steady and continual rise in popularity follows an amazing year of press and media saturation sparked by AllHipHop.com's announcement of his HomoRevolution Tour and Deadlee's controversial comments about homophobic rappers. He went on to appear in publications from Rolling Stone and Wired to Variety. He was featured on CNN several times and his April 13th appearance on the Tyra Banks Show brought him to the attention of many more.
He will be one of the artists featured in an article on the HomoRevolution Tour in the May 22nd Pride issue of the nationwide published magazine, THE ADVOCATE as well as June's issue of Revista Adelante. He travels to NYC in June to appear on the controversial Howard Stern Show on Thursday, June 7th.
His next live show will be at his first ever performance in his own neighborhood at PehrSpace (325 Glendale Bl) in Echo Park (Los Angeles) on Thursday, May 24 at 9 PM. Joining him will be local spanish hip hop artists SALVIMEX and Ohio based Mexican-American gay bear BIGG NUGG.
